About Us
We're operators and coaches who have led through the growth that we now help others navigate.
Behaviour change first.
We build leadership systems for scale-ups, and we build them the way we wish someone had built one for us while we were in the job. Evidence, momentum and honesty drive everything we do.
Careeryse is a leadership behaviour-change partner. We help scale-ups measure how leadership is experienced across the organisation, then change the behaviours slowing down execution. Behaviour change first, measurement as proof. We work with Series B+ scale-ups and PE-backed companies, typically 150 to 300 people, where growth has outpaced the capability of the leaders expected to drive it.
The problem we exist to solve has a name. Execution Drag is the gap between the pace a business needs and the pace its leadership behaviours allow. We help ambitious organisations to close it.
Why we do this
We have lived it.
Careeryse came out of watching a business scale from the inside and seeing what happens when the organisation grows faster than the people leading it. The strategy was sound. The talent was there. Execution still slowed, and the reason was never on any dashboard. Leadership capability had stopped keeping pace with the demands being placed on it, and nobody was measuring the gap.
That is a solvable problem, and it is best solved earlier than most companies attempt it.
Leadership has to scale to match the growth of the business, and ideally to outpace it. Everything we have built since comes from that conviction, tested in practice rather than theorised.
What we stand for
Three values shape every engagement. They are on this page because you will feel them in the room within the first hour of working with us.
Purpose. Everyone deserves to thrive in their work. So we start by getting to the core of what is genuinely meaningful, for each leader and for the business, and we build the development strategy from there. We hold this value because behaviour change that is anchored to something a leader actually cares about survives contact with a hard quarter. Change imposed from a framework rarely does.
Motion. We have a bias towards action and experimentation, because intentional action creates motion, and motion compounds into faster results. We hold this value because leadership behaviour changes through repetition in real work rather than through insight alone. Our job is to be the stimulus that speeds up transformation, then to build the system that keeps it moving without us in the room.
Gravitational pull. We commit to adding value daily: in every session, in what we publish, in the questions we ask before any contract exists. We hold this value because consistent, values-guided action creates its own pull, which is core to creating irresistible impact in people leadership.
What we built
Leadership Baseline+ measures how leadership is actually experienced across your organisation, then targets development at the behaviours creating the greatest drag on performance.
The framework behind it draws on three things, and it needs all three. Practitioner research, from thousands of hours coaching leaders in high-growth environments. Academic research, so the behaviours we measure are the ones the evidence says matter. And the lived experience of our practitioners, every one of whom has led inside a scaling business rather than only advised one.
Lived experience alone is a story. Research alone is a model. The combination is what makes the measurement worth acting on.
Who delivers the work
Careeryse was founded by Nejmi Alexander, previously a strategy consultant and a leader at an ed-tech unicorn through hypergrowth. He co-hosts Impactful Conversations, a leadership podcast made with Dr Glenn Wallis, where the thinking behind the system gets tested in the open.
We deliver alongside other scale-up operators, including our partner organisation Kaiako Consulting. Every coach is ICF or EMCC accredited.
Every programme is facilitated by people with real scale-up experience, because leaders can tell within ten minutes whether the person in front of them has done the job.
Across engagements to date we have supported over 100 leaders in five organisations, and we publish what we found on our proof page.
If leadership is starting to feel like the constraint, start where we start.
The free Execution Drag Diagnostic takes two minutes and shows you where the friction is building.
